Effects of Desertification

Desertification plays many effects on the people living in these regions. Famine, food loss, and destroyed vegetation are all some effects of desertification.

After the soil is turned to dust, farmers must move to alternative land sources. Over time, much land is used up. This causes food depletion which leads to starving and malnutrition. This greatly affects the people in these regions.

Food loss is also common because of the loss of nutrient-filled soil. This causes many issues reguarding health throughout Africa.
